Summer concerts at the outdoor amphitheaters around Seattle are some of the best nights of the year. The hard part is usually the drive: long lines to get in, longer lines to get out, and a late-night drive home after the encore. Here is how to get to the three big summer venues without anyone in your group having to drive.
Tulalip Amphitheatre
- Where: Tulalip Resort Casino, just off I-5 north of Marysville
- From downtown Seattle: about 35 miles, usually 45 to 60 minutes
- From Everett: usually 15 to 20 minutes
I-5 north of Seattle can be slow on summer weekends, so plan to leave early. Many guests have dinner at the resort before the show.
White River Amphitheatre
- Where: Auburn, about 40 miles southeast of Seattle
- From downtown Seattle: usually 50 to 70 minutes
- From Bellevue: usually 40 to 60 minutes
White River is known for long exit lines after a show. With a chauffeur, you relax in the back while someone else sits in that traffic.
Marymoor Park concerts
- Where: Marymoor Park in Redmond, at the north end of Lake Sammamish and the east end of SR 520
- From downtown Seattle: usually 25 to 40 minutes
- From Bellevue: usually 15 to 20 minutes
The lawn shows are relaxed, but parking fills up and everyone leaves together. SR 520 is often slow on summer evenings.
How a concert round trip works
- Your chauffeur drives you there and drops you as close to the entrance as traffic control allows.
- They stay nearby during the show. These trips are booked by the hour, so the car is always close.
- After the encore, your chauffeur texts you their live location, so you walk straight to the car.
- Minimum booking: 2 hours for sedans, 3 hours for SUVs and 4 hours for Sprinter vans.
- Groups ride together: a Sprinter van carries up to 9 or up to 14 passengers per van.
Tips for summer concert nights
- Book early. Summer concert dates fill up quickly.
- Bring layers. Outdoor evenings get cool once the sun goes down, even in July.
- Check the venue’s bag policy before you leave, so nothing has to go back to the car.
